MILWAUKEE – Center Christian Wood on Tuesday returned to the Rockets injury report with tendinitis in his left knee that forced him to miss games last week but the Rockets were optimistic after Wednesday’s game-day shootaround that he would be cleared to play against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Less clear was whether he would be able to also play on Thursday against the Indiana Pacers.

Wood, who is listed as questionable to play against the Bucks, had hoped to have gotten past the soreness in his knee when he sat out against the Cavaliers and Knicks last week. He played in the first two games of the road trip, averaging 22 points and 9.5 rebounds against the Pistons and Bulls.

“The plan is for him to play, barring any (issues) today and then pregame,” Rockets coach Stephen Silas said.

Silas said the reoccurrence of the issue is “a little bit” of a concern.

“We just have to make sure we’re doing our due diligence when it comes to his treatment and the strength training that needs to go with it, along with the rest,” Silas said. “This is something that we really have to keep an eye on and we will. But we felt like we were by past it a little bit. but obviously we have to keep a close eye on it.
