She has lost an impressive 35kg, and in an interview with TODAY Health on Saturday, Rebel Wilson revealed how she’s managed to keep it off.

The 41-year-old Pitch Perfect star said she’s developed a newfound love of walking.

‘I feel like sometimes people think you need to work your body really hard to get results, and yeah, if you were training to be the next Thor or something you would be doing hardcore things, but as a regular person, walking is just so healthy for you,’ she said.

She added: ‘The body is designed to move in that way.’

Rebel said she loves to ‘put in a podcast or listen to music’ during her walks, and praised the physical activity for being ‘so easy to do anywhere in the world’.

‘I can just go out and do it. It’s become my favourite form of exercise right now,’ she added.

As she returns to work on back-to-back movies, Rebel admitted she was ‘worried’ she’d slip back into old habits.

The Hustle actress confessed she tends to be a stress eater, and would ‘reach for the sugar’ whenever she was feeling ‘tired and stressed’.

But she said the healthy habits she adopted last year have ‘become ingrained’ without her having to try too much.

Rebel also emphasised the importance of self-care, and said she indulges in regular massages and facials in addition to eating well and exercising.

She said she also aims for eight hours of sleep a night, and uses the idea of starting a family as motivation to stay healthy.

‘I think what the pandemic taught us all is that health is so important. Your health is your world,’ she said.

‘It doesn’t matter how much money you’ve got, if you’ve got terrible health, you can’t enjoy anything and if you’re healthy, you can live life to the fullest.’

Rebel previously declared 2020 her ‘Year of Health’, and said that while she still treats herself, she’s found ways to indulge that don’t necessarily involve food.

According to a report by People in June last year, Rebel’s remarkable transformation is partially down to following the Mayr Method – a diet plan that eliminates food intolerances, reduces sugar and encourages eating whole foods slowly.

A source told the publication she got ‘amazing results’ by changing her eating habits while staying at the Austrian health and wellness retreat Vivamayr, and has continued to follow the plan.

‘She exercises with a personal trainer up to six times a week, goes on walks and is trying to up her protein intake nutritionally,’ the source added.

In an Instagram post in May 2019, Rebel revealed she was trying to get down to her goal weight of 75kg. She has since reached that goal and continues to lose weight.
